"Great UI isn't just aesthetic—it's data-driven. By letting deep-dive research dictate the architecture, we turned complex course materials into an effortlessly intuitive educational tool."
Research-Driven Product Design
THE CHALLENGE
Standardizing decentralized design workflows to accelerate high-volume website production.
The core educational product needed an overhaul to better serve its primary users. Course materials were difficult for students to digest, and the most heavily utilized tools were getting lost in the interface. The objective was to create a highly intuitive, user-centered platform that solved these friction points and elevated the learning experience.
THE IMPACT
Transforming internal design operations with AI assistance.
Delivered a significantly improved, user-centered product experience. By letting research guide the design, course content became highly digestible for students, and the interface became effortlessly intuitive. The result was a more impactful educational tool built on a foundation of solid user data and strategic market positioning.
The Strategy
To ensure the redesign solved real user problems, I spearheaded a comprehensive, data-backed research phase before opening any design software:
01
Deep-Dive Interviews
Created and led an internal AI Prompt Engineering and Design course to help team members understand, embrace, and implement AI to expedite workflows.
02
Targeted Personas
Synthesized interview insights into targeted user personas, which served as the north star for all subsequent product decisions.
03
Robust Competitive Analysis
Executed a 360-degree competitive audit. This went beyond standard UI teardowns to include analyzing search engine results and rankings, evaluating competitor product offerings, and identifying critical interface differences in the EdTech landscape.
From Data to Design (Execution)
03
Informed Prototyping
I translated the research findings into low-fidelity and high-fidelity prototypes. Because the competitive analysis revealed where other platforms were failing in their UI, I was able to design an interface that capitalized on those gaps.
04
Strategic Feature Surfacing
User interviews pinpointed exactly which features were most critical. I used this data to restructure the visual hierarchy, pulling the most utilized tools to the forefront of the experience.
